Creating InfoCube

Step By Step Procedure for Creating Info Cubes:

An Info Cube is a set of relational tables arranged according to the star schema: A large fact table in the middle surrounded by several dimension tables.

InfoCubes are made up of a number of InfoObjects. All InfoObjects (characteristics and key figures) are available independent of the InfoCube. Characteristics refer to master data with their attributes and text descriptions.

An InfoCube consists of several InfoObjects and is structured according to the star schema.  

Now we shall see the Steps to create the Info Cubes:

 

Info Cube Name shall start with “Z_” and describe the Info Cube and Start creating Info cube.

·        To create an info cube we require minimum of 1 fact table surrounded by 4 dimensions. Out of which 3 are fixed dimensions

o   Time

o   Unit

o   Date Package

·        A cube can have maximum of 1 fact table surrounded by 16 dimensions (13+3)

·        In this 3 are fixed dimensions and 13 are custom defined dimensions.

 

 

·        As we seen here are the Info Cube types. Now we shall import the Data store objects by drag and drop to the dimensions as per technical specifications.

 

 

·        After selecting data store objects, we create the dimensions as per technical specifications.

·        Here we see how to create the Dimensions.

 

·        Apart from technical specifications we created dimensions and regarding the time options we shall create like this:

·        In Dimensions, we are opting to set the time related options.

 

To see more options, we are having more options like these:

 

·        Once entire options are set, then we shall double check cubes and go ahead with the execution.

·        Apart from dragging the Key figures, the unit option will set automatically by key figure integer value.

Once the entire steps have completed just check and execute the cubes.  And this is the full layout of the Info Cubes.

These are steps of creating the Info Cubes.

The same process has been done for multiple Info Cubes. It has been Processed same like creating multiple Data store objects.

Finally next step is to process the Application Component in the Data Sources.

Conclusion:

While Considering the Info Area, Info Objects, Data Store Objects and Info Cubes are the main part in modeling part.

Hence we shall create the transformation for each and every thing and we can proceed to multiprovider. And Multiprovider is package of Data Store Objects and Info Cubes.
